I am up for a performance review at my construction job and am told I will be getting a 360 degree feedback meeting. What is that?
Unlike, the traditional top-down appraisal where a construction supervisor appraises the performance of their subordinate, 360 degree feedback incorporates multiple perspectives by using feedback from a variety of sources. These sources may include peers, subordinates, customers, and supervisors. A 360 degree feedback is sometimes called a multi-source feedback, multi-rater feedback, multi-level feedback, upward appraisal, or peer review.
The idea is to incorporate many professional associations that interact with you so as to provide a more comprehensive evaluation. These multi-source reviews often lend greater insight, than a single source review, in assisting employers improve your performance and success at work, while helping you learn and grow professionally.
