Can a construction executive resign or be terminated without cause?
In the U.S., most states are "right-to-work" states (sometimes known as "Right-to-get-fired" states) and almost all non-contracted employees are "employees at will" meaning that they can quit, with or without notice -- for any reason at any time. However they can also be terminated with or without notice at any time for any reason. The only exception is if a construction employer violates the Title VII Civil Rights Act which prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex and national origin. Employers can however set any legal termination policy they want regarding severance, or separation as long as they follow their own policy.
